Taalam Academy Of Percussion And Solkattu (T A P A S)

Teaching Indian percussion system from basic to professional level through a broad based curriculum spread over a specific period of time. 

Educate the students to understand the concept of moods in rhythm and guide in creating solos and group performances. Train the students further into giving percussion support to Indian melodies performed through vocal music and instruments

Undertake projects of grooming talented young musicians through crash courses and organise their debut or presentation concerts for public endorsement. 

Conduct workshops, clinics, Lec-Dem sessions, debates, conferences and festivals of music periodically with the participation of popular and aspiring musicians to promote percussion, solkattu and Tala

Conduct perpetual research and revive dying percussion art forms in both classical and folk music of India. 

Organise inter-cultural collaboration concerts with musicians invited from east and west and provide opportunities to professionals passed out from Tapas with distinction

Publish books and periodicals to spread awareness and information on Indian rhythmic system. 

Conduct competitions in Indian rhythm related concepts for students of music to promote and sustain interest. 

Felicitate distinguished performers and teachers during TAPAS anniversaries, for their contribution in promoting percussion, solkattu and Tala. 

Organize fundraisers to support weaker sections of the music fraternity.
